What is the School Advisory Council
Annejeanette Washington-Wooten and Karen Steinberg- Co-Chairs
- Has the task of writing the School Improvement Plan
- Has specific tasks to complete as they relate to the School Improvement Plan.
- Only elected members, representing stakeholders, may vote and in some schools only elected members may speak at the SAC meetings.
- Oversees the implementation of the School Improvement Plan.
- Successes and failures stay within the school. Sharing with the innovation zone is encouraged, however, the SAC concentrates on its performance as measured on the School Improvement Plan.
- Issues must relate to the School Improvement Plan as must be measured.
- No immediate action can be taken- academic objectives are first put into the School Improvement Plan.
- Issues must relate to the School Improvement Plan and be measurable. Also responsible for specific safety and discipline strategies, SAC budget, and review of the school budget.
- Input on training, instructional materials, staffing, technology, and waivers as they relate to the School Improvement Plan/
- AUTHORITY- Florida Legislation.
